History of Najel soap
The Al NAJJAR family has been manufacturing authentic Aleppo soap since 1895 using ancestral artisanal know-how . Aleppo soap is the first hard soap made for centuries, it is the ancestor of Marseille soap. This know-how is passed down from generation to generation in the Al NAJJAR family soap factory located in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria.
Every year from the end of November to the end of March, the making of the world's first hard soap is repeated according to a immutable process. The soaps then dry for at least nine months. During this period the soaps oxidize on the surface and take on a yellow/brown color, the heart retains the green color of the oils which compose it.
NAJEL Aleppo soap is exclusively made from olive oil and laurel berry oil , two noble oils which give it many virtues. Saponified olive oil is a powerful cleanser that nourishes, protects and softens the skin. Laurel berry oil is recognized for its disinfectant and regenerating properties. The stronger its concentration, the more soothing the soap is for irritated skin or problem skin (psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatosis).
Made from traditional 200 g Aleppo soaps, NAJEL organic Damascus rose compressed soap combines the virtues of Aleppo soap with those of organic Damascus floral water.
