In herbal medicine, senna leaves are used as an infusion to combat constipation problems, to purify the digestive tract and the intestinal flora. Use in moderation

Composition
The leaves are rich in flavonoids, naphthalene derivatives (naphthalenic glycosides) and anthracene B. They contain dianthronic glycosides (sennosides A, B, C, D and anthraquinones) and mucilages.

Advice
- Put a few senna leaves in a cup of boiling water.
- Infuse for 10 minutes, then filter before consuming.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Senna should not be used in the following cases:
- Intestinal obstruction, acute intestinal inflammation (Crohn's disease), ulcerative colitis, appendicitis.
- Its use should also be avoided in cases of abdominal pain of undetermined cause or severe dehydration accompanied by a loss of minerals.
- As a precaution and in the absence of sufficient data, it is best not to use senna leaves during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
- Finally, children under 10 should not consume senna-based preparations.
